History

Colorado Mustang Specialists, Inc. began in a two-car garage in 1972. Mustangs were as numerous as hippies on a Boulder park lawn, easy to buy, fix and sell. So, a would be University of Colorado student found a lucrative way to pay his rent and tuition. After graduation the diploma went in a drawer and the horsing around got serious. Wrecked, junked and abandoned Mustangs were cheap and plentiful, so the collection started that eventually led to the worlds largest Mustang salvage yard.

The pony romance led to many of these Mustangs being rebuilt in our own shop for resale, show and collection. Customer restorations naturally followed the parts and service availability, and continue to be a major product along with routine maintenance and insurance work. Parts sales have always been this companys staple with the emphasis being on used parts, as availability of new Ford parts inventory gradually declined for the early Mustang. However, new, quality repro parts have become increasingly abundant. We keep these parts in stock at our Aurora, Colorado warehouse. New, original Ford service parts are also available from us, as well as many hard to find used parts, for all body styles, from 64-1/2 to the present day Mustang!

Most recent and exciting to us is the addition of modern fuel injection conversions, for 64-1/2 to 85 models. These conversions and related parts let the novice enthusiast bring his early Mustang into the new millennium with a computer driven, fuel-injected, V-8 power train, meeting todays standards without changing the Mustangs classic design. We predict these conversions will open a fun and exciting new era of Mustang enthusiasm.

Orders of in stock items are usually shipped within 24 hours, via Federal Express, or via Truck Freight, to the continental United States only. Sorry, we dont ship COD. We do accept most major credit cards, personal checks with proper I.D, and cash still works. Special arrangements should be made on truck freight items.

Colorado Mustang has been performing Mustang service since 1972. Our staff represents over 100 years of combined Mustang experience. Our shop is always busy, but if you would like us to work on your classic Mustang we will get you in the door. Restoration, daily maintenance, and insurance work all welcome. All work is performed in house, including laser frame work. storage, towing, appraisals and salvage buying is also available from us.
